Excellent academics Sun
Hwa Academy is registered with the Texas Association of Non-public
schools. It is excellent academically. We have students attending
from all over the world. It is primarily designed for children who
wish to have a core Divine Principle education and who are college
bound. Students from Sun Hwa have often begun college early due
to the rigorous intellectual course of study here. Sun
Hwa Academy has state-of-the-art computer technology with 13 networked
pentium workstations, 3 scanners, 3 Wacom tablets, 3 color printers
and excellent graphic arts programs for professional web design
and computer publishing, as well as for offset press. Safe Environment for Growing Kids The
school is located in a small Texas town of 5000 people where one
of the main attractions is walking to the Sno Cone shop. The Brewer
home is located on two acres on the San Jacinto river where kids
can fish and canoe off the back yard. The school affords a relaxed
home environment in a beautiful Southern neighborhood shaded by
huge oaks and pecan trees, a safe haven where children can ride
bikes freely and walk the streets even at night in safety. The school
has a pool and the Brewer home is a wonderful place for outdoor
recreation around water. Neighbors know each other well and the
town has a 10 o'clock curfew. One very nice aspect of it is that the kids get to be with other BCs their age, deepening both their friendships and faith in a rich and healthy learning environment. It also gives kids room to be fun, crazy, and creative. The academy trains students to have a passion for learning and helps them develop into self starters who pursue their education of their own volition by sparking their curiosity and desire to know more. It is a very empowering environment and helps the student have confidence in his/her own ability to think and reason, rather than to rely on pat answers given out and regurgitated back. Far from being an environment where students merely learn to "work the system" and get by with minimal study to make an acceptable grade, Sun Hwa Academy requires 100 percent mastery of subjects. Every effort is made to help the student achieve this end. Students learn to take pride in every aspect of their work and to perform well due to a personal desire for excellence. As stated earlier, Sun Hwa is a truly unique and rewarding place for your child to grow and learn.
